There is no rejection in life, only redirection.
The astrology transits on October 12th will strike hot, just a few short days after the new moon in Libra. It will create ripples that will impact our lives for the rest of the month, and likely will affect the landscape of our lives for years to come.
There are two major aspects: Sun square Pluto — with the Sun in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn — and Mercury sextile Saturn — with Mercury in Scorpio and Saturn in Capricorn. But how will these impact your zodiac sign and, therefore, your horoscope?
In astrology, a square is when two planets are within 90 degrees of one another and create a stressful or opposing angle, which generally results in us also feeling those energies in our lives.
Sun square Pluto is a powerful transit but not necessarily an enjoyable one. Pluto is one of the most powerful energies in the solar system and while his themes of death, transformation and metamorphosis can be difficult to grapple with at times, whatever this planet stirs up for us is necessary.
Pluto always acts for the good of us and for the world as a whole. He rearranges and takes away, but the thing is, he births and brings anew as well.
The Sun represents our sense of self, who we are, where we see ourselves going and what we believe in. And in Libra this means that we’re striving for balance in all areas of our lives, including our personal, romantic, and even familial and professional.
Ultimately, we inherently know that in order to be our best self, we also need to be in the position where we feel balanced within multiple areas of our lives.
But Pluto doesn’t care that Libra is concerned about balance, nor does he care that the Sun has tried to make things be a certain way, because the only thing that Pluto does care about is if we are hanging onto something that is no longer good for us.
Often times, we refuse to bury what has already died. We sit with it, we try to resuscitate it to bring it back to life, to have it be what it once was. But once something, especially a relationship or love itself, has died, there’s no way to get back what was once there.
Because it’s difficult to become someone we never thought we could be.
Yet, this is where the second transit, Mercury in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn, comes in and helps us manifest the energy of Pluto. In astrology, a sextile is when both planets are within 60 degrees of one another and create a helpful or beneficial alignment, which helps us takes a difficult situation and make it better.
Mercury is the planet that governs our communication and how we are able to take what we are feeling and process it into words to express emotions and desires. In Scorpio, Mercury is concerned with truth — not relative, possible truth, but absolute and deep truths. Mercury is focused on those thoughts and realities that withstand any judgment or test of time.
They just are. So while we may be struggling under the weight of Pluto’s energy, Mercury will be helping us see the truth of any situations or circumstances so we can move through it with greater ease.
One important aspect during this transit is that we may find old karmic chapters coming to a close. Saturn is on the scene, and when we see the lord of time and karma hook up with Pluto, it means that it’s time to move on from some old and outdated patterns that were only meant to serve us a karmic lesson or to clear ties from past lives.
We don’t have to live within our suffering. We don’t have to live within the pain of disappointment or personal failures. Ultimately though, no one can actually rescue us, because even if what we need is someone to help us, we first have to help ourselves.
Mercury and Saturn are here to make sure that we let go of what we’re meant to. They are here to encourage us to speak our truth, to never settle, to let go of pain and to give ourselves permission to move into the kind of life we’ve always wanted.
Saturn is the taskmaster as well, so he’s here to make sure we do what we have to do. Sure, we can always choose to procrastinate, but that doesn’t mean it will go away; instead, it’s only putting off for tomorrow what should be dealt with today.
During this transit, we can expect big change, to say goodbye to those situations and people that we’ve outgrown, to be inspired to leave behind the old storylines, and to choose ourselves. It’s the chance to choose our own happiness, our own worth, and the dreams that we have for ourselves.
